T-shaped steel is a kind of steel cast into a T shape. It is named because its cross section is the same as the English letter "T".
There are three types of T-shaped steel:
1. T-shaped steel is directly split from H-shaped steel. The usage standard is the same as H-shaped steel (GB/T11263-2017). It is an ideal material to replace the welding of double angle steel. It has the advantages of strong bending resistance, simple construction, cost saving and light structural weight.
2. It is a hot-rolled T-shaped steel that is once formed. It is mainly used in the machinery industry and as small hardware steel. Due to the limitations of roll size and pass shape, the specifications are relatively single, mainly small specifications.
3. It is a strip steel plate made by hot rolling or cutting by slitting, flame, plasma, laser, etc., and is a welded T-shaped steel (longitudinal plate-strip T-shaped steel) formed by manual or mechanical assembly and continuous welding. This product has the advantages of stable quality, flexible specifications, high production efficiency, and few quantity restrictions. It has become a powerful complement to the first two products and is widely used in construction, curtain walls and other fields. With the mature iteration of welding technology and the continuous requirements of the national "dual carbon" policy, longitudinal plate and strip welded T-shaped steel will be recognized and used in more fields.
The code of T-shaped steel corresponds to that of H-shaped steel. TW, TM, and TN are used to represent wide-flange T-shaped steel, medium-flange T-shaped steel, and narrow-flange T-shaped steel respectively. The expression method is also the same as that of H-shaped steel.
